Summary:

The Business Transient Sales Account Manager is primarily responsible for identifying and booking business transient and corporate group room night accounts while maintaining existing accounts. S/He will uncover short-term group business and tele market for new accounts, which includes making personal calls to local accounts to develop local business travel accounts. S/He will maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction.

The Sales Account Manager shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Hotel's Culture and Portfolio Hotels & Resorts' Core Values.

Essential Job Functions:

·         70% of his/her time will be spent in a direct solicitation of accounts. (A minimum of 12-15 outside calls and 25-30 prospecting phone calls per week; goals will change based on business demands)

  • 30% of his/her time will be spent on sales coordination, such as creating groups, inputting rooming list, tracing group pick-up, billing, follow-up correspondence to clients and any other activates necessary to assist the sales department
  • Responsible for identifying new accounts with related group business
  • Responsible for booking short-term related group business
  • Responsible for understanding rate management; evaluating good pieces of business and increasing rates to meet owners expectations
  • 24 hour response on all leads
  • Knowledgeable of the selling process and possess a proven track record
  • Develop and implement quarterly action plans for the Business Transient market
  • Proficient in SalesPro, Word and Excel
  • Responsible for keeping proper documentation in SalesPro
  • Keep informed on current industry trends that affect your local market
  • Maintain accurate and complete files in SalesPro and hard copy in accordance with Portfolio Hotel guidelines at all times
  • Attend after-hour networking events
  • Travel to feeder markets for sales calls
  • ACTIVITY GOALS: Minimum Requirement
  • 25-30 Tele-Prospecting Calls per week
  • 12-15 Outside calls per week
  • 1 site per week
  • Goals may change with business demands
  • Maintaining all documentation in SalesPro
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
  • Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations
  • All other duties as directed by General Manager or Portfolio Management team

 

Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned. 

Experience & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent in hospitality service or sale experience; College degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in hotel customer service or sales, or in a related industry to hospitality
  • Overall knowledge of hotel sales and service
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access
  • Basic math skills
  • Willingness and ability to promote a positive team member culture and core values
  • Ability to maximize impact, maintain interest, and establish a rapport with your audience when conveying information
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Fluency in other languages beneficial

  • Must be able to make good business decisions that are profitable for Fairfield Ann Arbor as well as cross-sell for all Portfolio Hotels
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with property sales, catering, and operation team
  • Maintain the duties of the sales coordination including all groups and events
  • Comply with all safety and OSHA requirements
  • Maintain a clean and professional working environment
  • Direct any questions or concerns to Supervisor
  • Comply with all deadlines
  • Assist in any other sales related duties

 

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to frequently stand up or move within and outside the facility
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel
  • Must be able to carry or lift items weighting up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements consistent with office work
  • Must be able to frequently handle office supplies and equipment to maintain the facility
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
